Abstract

The orderly study valued the association between Paper Based System of Record Keeping and Organizational Performance in Mitooma District in western Uganda. The research study embraced a crosssectional and descriptive research design with quantitative approach. The investigators used simple random sampling and stratified random sampling strategies to select the participants for the research study. A sample of 72 participants were selected from 157 people using a table developed by Morgan & Krejcie (1970). Data was gathered by means of questionnaires and analyzed by utilizing Descriptive statistics such as Pie Charts and Inferential Analysis such as Pearson linear correlation coefficient (PLCC) for quantitative data analysis. The study discoveries revealed that there was a significant connection between Paper Based System of Record Keeping and Organizational Performance in Mitooma District in Western Uganda . The study concluded that Paper-Based Records Management systems are increasingly outdated due to their limitations in space, accessibility and vulnerability to damage. From the study findings, the investigators recommended that there is need to combine Paper Based System of record keeping with Digital records keeping system in order to cater for failure to retrieve records for the development of the organization. If one system fails to supply information, then, the other one can do the needful in order to sustain normalcy in the organization. Local Governments all over the world should augment on the budget for capacity building so that employees can go for further training in records management. This can help Local Governments grow due to easy access to information for development.
